Second Economic Impact (Stimulus) Payments May Come Via Debit Card

The IRS is currently disbursing the second round of Economic Impact (Stimulus) Payments to qualifying taxpayers. If you qualify for a payment but haven’t received yours yet, keep an eye on your mail. The IRS has sent approximately 8 million of these payments by prepaid debit card, even to some taxpayers that received direct deposits in the last round. The envelope will note it as an Economic Impact Payment card.

If you’re not sure where your payment is, you can use the IRS’s “Get My Payment” tool for an update. If you don’t receive your payment but were eligible, you will be able to claim it on your 2020 tax return.
